Applications
Bump caps combine comfort and head protection, and so are a versatile piece of personal protective equipment. Although they are not as sturdy as hard hats or conventional safety helmets, the bump cap is capable of preventing minor injuries and is designed as a preventative against accidental bumping. They might typically be used by delivery drivers of warehouse workers, or in environments where there are low head clearance.
Can Bump Caps be used in Hard Hat areas?
Though they can protect the head from injury, bump caps are not typically designed to protect from falling objects, and so are not recommended to be used as a hard hat substitute. In hard hat areas, a traditional hard hat should be worn. Health and safety compliance should be discussed with a qualified representative.
